Class Registration: $40.00, advance reservations with scion wood choices requested before March 22nd.
9:00 - 9:30 Welcome, registration, hand outs, coffee, cider and cookies.
9:30-10:00 Introduction to Grafting 101: knife requirements, sharpening, scion wood selection, grafting techniques.
10:30 to 12:30 On hand (your hand) grafting in class instructions. Free practice wood for dormant whip, and bark grafting.
12:30 - 1:45 Lunch on your own at Rolling Ground Bar & Grill, 3 1/2 miles from Kickapoo orchard.
1:45 - 4:00 Return to Kickapoo Orchard for more hands-on grafting experience
Additional items available at class: Grafting knives: Vitorinox straight blade, to use buy $12.00 each.
Rootstock: V1, Supporter 4, B-9, B-118 - $2.50 each.
Scion Wood: bring you own or select from varieties from varieties listed on our Apples page $2.00 each. Please email your scion wood requests before March 22nd. Disease resistant: Enterprise, Gold Rush, Kickapoo Spice, Red Free, Williams Pride, and Liberty. WineCrisp (TM) also requires royalty fee.
